Each year when the felt portrait stockings come out we always share a good laugh at the uncanny expressions captured :) You can make these with minimal embroidery skills. Start with felt stockings, find something circular to create a template for the faces (plate or bowl!) and start adding felt hair and features as you please! I used a disappearing ink pin to draw on the eyes, noses, and mouths before committing to the embroidery. They are attached using a simple blanket stitch in a contrast color. It's pretty easy to tell who's who, although we've left of names so we always have some fun of trying to make sure before we fill them on Christmas Eve.
