Welcome, December!
This project took only about 10 minutes total for me to walk both girlies through it and they are thrilled with the end project, Y is watching a Christmas movie with her sleigh parked next to her as we speak and using it to act out the Santa parts :) You can customize these with any candy or better sleigh ideas you might find. The only problem we ran into: "But mom, where are the reindeer??" We'll save them for another day!! Happy Christmas crafting!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! For our advent calendar this year, I've compiled 24 activities to do each day. About half of them or fun Christmas Crafties you can do with your kids, little kids (Mine are 1 & 3!). All month I'll be sharing these simple and fun projects with you so you and your kiddies can get in on the fun!
Today's project: Candy Sleighs
Supplies (for one sleigh)1 flat candy bar (we used Hershey's milk chocolate, but as I'm typing this I'm thinking that the white wrapper of a Cookies & Cream bar would have looked slightly more Christmas-y)2 Candy Canes
1 Santa Candy (we used those cheap crispy crunch chocolate santa's, they're adorable and I think you get like 3 for $1!)
2+ Bell shaped or square christmas candies
Directions:Break the candy bar (but not the packaging) in the middle, being careful not to break the other portions of the bar. Use hot glue to make two lines on the outer edges of one half of the bar, you can man the glue gun while your little helpers place the canes. Then, folding the free half of the candy bar up, place two blobs of hot glue on the back parts of the candy canes and have your little helper place two candies to sit the sleigh upright. Now they can put Santa and any extra candy "presents" in his sleigh. We glued ours into the sleigh so they didn't fall out while it was flying . . . which it has been all morning! I promise your kids will love this!
